The Outreach Council is the working arm of the St. Paul's Vestry for outreach ministries. The primary purpose of the Outreach Council is to carry out the St. Paul's Vision with practical, effective responses to identified needs in the community, city, and beyond. The secondary purpose of the Outreach Council is to incorporate new and existing members into outreach programs, giving St. Paul's members opportunities for service to others in need.
Outreach Council Vision
In his life Christ embraced people who were devalued and pushed aside, and exposed injustice and violence in the institutions and power structures of his day. As the Body of Christ, we are called to the same inclusive and transforming work. The Outreach Council of St. Paul's Episcopal Church strives to:
Express the love of Christ to our local and global neighbors by helping those who are hungry, homeless, sick, or oppressed. Inasmuch as we all share, undeserving, in the riches of God's grace, so St. Paul's pledges to give from its abundance to meet others' needs.
Identify and resist injustice and violence in all forms, working to redeem the institutions and structures that legitimize them. In as much as Christ's death and resurrection vanquished the powers of this world, so St. Paul's pledges to live into the present and eternal Kingdom of God.
Outreach Council Meetings
Meets the 3rd Monday of each month (Excluding July and August) at 5:30 p.m. in the Quilt Room.
